Shaking hands became a rare thing to experience. Something we use to experience more often on a daily base. The handprint we leave behind on each other by a handshake is sometimes just to greet each other, but it can also be used to emphasise that a deal is made. Along borders a lot of deals are made, also a lot of anonymous and unknown deals.
This month the border gallery received an anonymous collection. A collection of prints capturing the interspace of a hand of many anonymous people. No direct traces to find out who they are. Therefore this time you can only imagine the bodies who left their prints behind, but at the same time no-body and no-voice to be referred to. How do we value anonymous actions around us? What does anonymity create for the surrounding? Can an anonymous act be a result of freedom or of possible misuse? A collection of tiny handprints, in the game of anonymity.
